Goa Diaries – Part 2

February 16, 2016 at 7:12 am |

It has been quite some time that I did my first post on my first two days in Goa. You can check the post here. After having a fun and pretty adventures second day in the blissful Goa, we woke up fresh and headed off to South Goa to visit the Dudhsagar Falls. Had heard a lot about it. It is apparently amongst India’s tallest waterfalls. It was going to be a long day, so I chose to wear something very comfortable. I went with a denim playsuit from Westside and an oversized Chemistry shirt tied around the waist.

We went to South Goa from Calangute and then had to take a jeep till the falls. It was a 10 km jungle safari till the falls. The view was astounding. The entire journey is something that am always gonna remember. We had to cross two rivers where while crossing, the chilled water flowed inside the jeep. It was exhilarating.

We reached a point from where we had to trek around a kilometre or so till the falls.

We dived in the icy cold water, nearly drowned once, thanks to my friend Madhurima but finally managed to reach till the falls. I have not and will never be able to explain how I felt at that time. Never thought I will be floating by the edge of a waterfall and have water, actually fall over me. If only there was a secret cave behind the falls and some decade old treasure hidden there with a secret map leading to it.
Yes, movies do that to ya!

After being completely spent, we returned back to the resort but made sure to check out the church on our way back. We spent the evening at St. Anthony’s shack in Calangute. Upasana sang during karaoke and then we ended the night dancing and drinking and having a gala time.

The next day we took our own sweet time waking up and then hit the pool. We had our reservations done at Thalassa in Vagator. I wore my blue chino shorts from Jealous 21 and a plaid cropped shirt from Vero Moda. I had blogged about both of them here and here.

The place was done in pristine white. It exuded the warmth and sheer happiness of Greek hospitality amalgamated instinctively with the laid back, free and tranquil atmosphere and vibe of Goa. The view from up there was breathtaking.

After having a very late lunch there, we went to Cafe Lilliput and spent a very peaceful evening there. Next morning we planned to go to Fort Aguada. I went for a monochrome outfit for the day. Wore my black short with a Max tube top and a black shirt from Chemistry.

The fort was enormous and the view from up there was so stimulating and spine-tingling.

Had our own “Dil Chahta Hai” moment here. Though we came to know way later that Fort Aguada was not where Dil Chahta Hai was shot. It was in Chapora Fort. But Eh!What the hell! We enjoyed the Fort nonetheless.

We came back from the fort, ordered some room service as we were famished and then got ready to go to Club Cubana. The club is at the hilltop and we went on a Wednesday which is usually a ladies night there. So we got free entry and unlimited drinks. Yay! I wore my favourite tattered denims from Vero Moda, a crop top from Shopnineteen and layered it with a button down white shirt from Austin Reed. The club had three floors, the first one was the pool and pool bar, the second was a dining place with a bar and the third was a dance floor. Spent some crazy time there.

And then next day, it was time for us to return back. We were so upset we were near to tears. Its not just the place that we knew we would miss, it was the freedom. Freedom of choice, freedom to go wherever whenever, freedom to wear whatever we wanted to, without being judged a tiniest bit. But every good thing has to come to an end so that something better comes along and it has. Will be again leaving for a 10 day trip to Italy this month.

This was one of the best trips I ever had. Dying to visit the place again. And I will. Very soon.
